Groomer Al's Trail Report for Sunday Dec 22

Groomer Al's Trail Report for Sunday Dec 22

At 8AM, the trail temp was -3C and by noon it was 0C.

Snow base isn't great. We received 15 cm earlier and then another 5cm this week before the rain came.

Snow depth is 18 cm and is both damp and crusty.

There is so much water around that puddles are forming in low spots next to the ski trails and in low areas of the adjacent gravel pit.

All trails except Elk run have been panned once, and will need another good snowfall before tracks can be set.

A local rodent is still making a mess inside the Eagle Lookout biffy. We have thrown mothball crystals all around hoping it will not like the smell and move on.

Snowshoers were walking on Dogleg ski trails. We had a friendly chat as they were first timers on the trails. Hopefully it won't happen in the future.

Grumpy the Snowcat running fine at 47 years young.

All for now…..Groomer Al
