Jan 03 Trail Update by Julie King

Four of us were at McKinney today. It was three degrees and mostly overcast with anywhere from 8-18" of snow on mostly untracked trails. Another couple arrived to ski, but I'm not sure which trail they took.

We headed out the original snowshoe trail to the Junction shelter, so that trail is now well-tracked as is the short spur to the Junction outhouse.

From there we tracked the Dogleg snowshoe trail back to the parking lot. Unfortunately, we lost the trail just before reaching the gravel pit and ended up alongside Coyote ski trail. If anyone wants to head out on Dogleg from the parking lot outhouse, you should eventually meet up with where we went wrong.
